What makes Native Trails’ products so unique?

Each product comes to life through a handcrafted process that is honed by centuries of tradition, skill, and experience. A typical sink may take several days and many thousands of hammer strikes to complete. The end result is a one-of-a-kind functional work of art that embodies the unique style and skilled technique of the artisan who created it.

Will the dimensions of each product vary?

Yes. Because each product is a handcrafted work of art, no two products will be alike.  Our bathtubs may vary up to one inch. All other handcrafted products may vary up to one-half inch.

What is Native Trails’ stance on the environment?

Respect for our environment is a core value at Native Trails.  We utilize high quality recycled copper and reclaimed wood as the primary materials of our handcrafted creations.  Our literature is printed on recycled paper as well.  We are constantly striving to find new ways to green our workplace and reduce our footprint on the environment.  When you purchase a Native Trails product, you can feel confident that you are making an environmentally responsible decision.

Where can I see or purchase a Native Trails product?

Use our Showroom Finder tool to locate a Native Trails showroom near you. We have dealers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

What makes the Maestro Collection of lavatory bowls, and the tempered finish different?

The tempered finish is achieved through a special heating and cooling technique resulting in a rich variation of color. This variation is enhanced in the Maestro Collection by using heavy 15 gauge copper and specialized hammers to create a luxurious texture on the outside of the bowl.

Does Native Trails customize products?

Absolutely! We understand the need for custom items. Customization of dimensions and drain sizes is something we do every day – special sized or shaped sinks, bathtubs, vanity tops, and mirrors are all common. We can give a price quote and estimated lead time through a Native Trails dealer.

What is IAPMO and why is it important that a product is IAPMO Listed?

IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials) is an agency that evaluates plumbing and mechanical products according to nationally recognized standards and to the requirements of the Uniform Plumbing Code™ (UPC™), as well as to the Canadian Uniform Plumbing Code™ (cUPC™). Commercial projects normally require this, and it is also required in many regions for residential construction.  Most of Native Trails sinks and bathtubs are IAPMO Listed and UPC/cUPC certified, facilitating their use in all types of projects.  Our products and facilities are regularly inspected by IAPMO to ensure compliance.

Does Native Trails supply templates for the basins?

Because of the inherent variation in dimensions of our handcrafted products, we do not supply templates. We highly recommend waiting to receive your actual bowl before making any cuts in the counter top. However, we do have spec sheets available in our Product Specification section

Do you provide sink clips for undermounting the bowls?

We do not provide sink clips because we can’t anticipate the counter material that will be used; mounting clips can be provided by any professional installer.

What exactly is ‘gauge’?

Gauge refers to the thickness of the metal.  The lower the gauge, the thicker the metal. Of course, it will vary slightly within a piece due to the hand hammering. Most of our products are made using heavy 16 gauge copper.  Some of our products are even made from 15 gauge copper.

Why should I buy a Native Trails drain?

Our drains are specialized for our basins, ensuring both a perfect fit and a warm finishing touch that enhances the luxurious look and feel of our bowls. Using the highest quality materials and workmanship, Native Trails drains are designed to function at the highest level — from the perfect drainage of our Lift & Turn Drains to the snug fit of our spring loaded Basket Strainers. Our Dome Drains are an ingenious design that disguises the function of a grid with a beautiful dome shaped cover.
